King George Shop is excited to announce that we will be collaborating with @lisaclarkphotography, an award winning, Sarasota photographer. Photography is most definitely her passion. She loves to use the amazing Florida landscape to capture ones’ most unforgettable moments and keep them in a photograph forever. KG will be working with her for her upcoming, “Mom and Me” Mini Sessions on May 2, in anticipation of Mother’s Day. With each session scheduled, clients will have the opportunity to choose a piece of King George Shop jewelry (earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, etc) from a large assortment of options, to wear for your mini session. You will also be given an exclusive discount code to purchase anything you want from www.kinggeorgeshop.com. Sign-ups will begin April 25th, at noon on her Facebook Page.
When scheduling a family photo session, there are many different things to consider. First, you want to pick a great photographer that can help create the look you want, has lots of experience, especially with children, and who not only has ideas of her own, but is also open to your ideas. Lisa fits this description perfectly. You can see many of her pictures on her Instagram, Facebook Page and at lisaclarkphotography.net.
Once you have chosen a great photographer, it’s important to consider a few other aspects because they will contribute to ensuring your images turn out exactly the way you want. First, you will want to determine the location of your session. It helps set the tone, create the mood of your pictures, affects the lighting and influences your clothing options. The “Mom and Me” Mini Session will take place in nature, with lots of greenery and with a few, very simple props.
With the location in mind, you can start thinking about what you and your family will wear for your session. Now this is where it can get tricky. It’s most important to wear what makes you feel comfortable, yet fabulous, so you can be yourself and take great photos. It’s also important to coordinate the overall color scheme and style for each of you.
It’s common to go with neutrals and solids because they photograph well. At the same time, you don’t want it to end up boring. When you accentuate a simple outfit with unique, quality jewelry, you will add a bit of color and visual interest. It also makes it very easy to change the look of what you’re wearing in a matter of seconds. When adding accessories to your outfit, you want to remember to find the right item that accentuates what you are wearing, yet still allows the photo to focus on your faces. Be sure that what you are wearing fits well. A piece of jewelry that pops can be a great way to accentuate all the right things, as long as you don’t overdo it at the same time. Although, we have to admit that we find it hard to over-do any of our King George Shop jewelry! Another concept to consider when adding jewelry and accessories is to choose items that offer a little contrast. A splash of color mixed in can really add some interesting aspects to your photos.
It never hurts to brainstorm (i.e google it, or check pinterest!) ahead of time to have an idea for a few poses that you would love to try with your family. You may or may not use all of them, but having a sense of what you are looking for ahead of time can help keep you and your photographer on track. Sometimes in the end though, the cutest candid shots come from laughing at yourselves during the process.
If after trying each of these ideas, you are still having trouble finding the exact look you are looking for, then let us help! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions, pictures, and/or descriptions of what you’re looking for and we can suggest the perfect piece. Lisa also has a ton of experience and can make great suggestions as well. Email her at email@example.com.
A note about the pics you see here:
We had so much fun with Lisa playing around with style pics (her camera and skills, plus our jewelry collection) on a gorgeous afternoon and by the beautiful Sarasota Bay. We had a blast! Thank you Lisa! We can't wait to do it again for your upcoming mini sessions!
